AboutAki is the Grammy and Latin Grammy awards winning Recording/Mixing Engineer based in NYC. He is comfortable working with analog and digital gears for clients ranging from indie to world class musicians. After graduating Berklee College of Music, he began his career in 2006 at Avatar Studios/Power Station. While at Avatar he had the opportunity to work with the industries leading producers, engineers, and musicians, as well as to explore how to create real music. In addition to working at Avatar, Aki opened his own studio in Brooklyn in 2010. Since then he has continued developing his own career recording/mixing for local indie bands to world-wide artists, jazz musicians, broadway cast recording, film scoring and more across the globe. Currently Aki has his own studio in Long Island City in Spin Recording Studios.
Some of his credits include the 64th Grammy winning Best Jazz Instrumental Album "Skyline" by Ron Carter, Jack DeJohnette, and Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the 23rd Latin Grammy winning Best Tropical Album "Gonzalo Rubalcaba y Aymée Nuviola Live In Marciac" as a mixing engineer. Also He worked with Jon Batiste, Makoto Ozone, Wynton Marsalis, Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, Joe Jackson, Angélique Kidjo, Lionel Richie, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Sara Bareilles, Kid Rock, Punch Brothers, Sean Lennon, Paul McCartney, John Legend, Rhiannon Giddens and many more. |
What Can We Do? |
We record and mix for musicians from solo artists to large ensembles in various styles including Rock, Pop, R&B, Folk, Country, Broadway, Electronic, Classical, Jazz, World Music, and many more. We track live instruments with various microphone techniques to get ideal sound for any style of music, maximizing the potential of music in Mixing. We provide professional editing and tuning in Pro Tools with trained ears.
